My Dog Ate A Twix Candy Bar. Is he Going To Be Okay?

My dog just ate half of a Twix Candy Bar.( 1 of the sticks). i heard chocolate is bad for dogs. please let me know. should i take him to a vet. Im scared please help. he seems to be acting normal. He is a toy poodle. Fairly small like 4-5 pounds.

lol yes he must eat alot of choclate to get sick or act strange. dont panic he will be ok!

Guideline:On average,Milk chocolate contains 44 mg of theobromine per oz.Semisweet chocolate contains 150mg/oz.Baker's chocolate 390mg/oz.Using a dose of 100 mg/kg as the toxic dose it comes out roughly as:1 ounce per 1 pound of body weight for Milk chocolate1 ounce per 3 pounds of body weight for Semisweet chocolate1 ounce per 9 pounds of body weight for Baker's chocolate.So, for example, 2 oz. of Baker's chocolate can cause great risk to an 15 lb. dog. Yet, 2 oz. of Milk chocolate usually will only cause digestive problems.

He should be ok, but you probably should call a vet or an emergency vet just to make sure...hope everything is ok

He will not die. I also have a Toy Poodle and he has eaten a whole hershey chocolate w/almonds. He'll be fine.

You dog is fine.The chocolate thing is basically a myth.My dog ate an entire chocolate cake on my birthday.

That is not enough to poison your dog. It takes about 1 ounce of milk chocolate per pound of body weight to kill a dog.1 twix bar doesnt have much chocolate.. its mostly cookie and caramel.. while not a healthy treat, its not going to kill your dog.. the worst your dog will suffer is an upset stomache, and possibly some vomiting or diareah.

He will get quite ill but he will survive...NO More chocolate though keep it up away from him. You may be cleaning up the Hershey squirts by morning.

I HAVE A yorkie-poo(half toy poodle) 6 POUNDS AT THE TIME (A PUPPY) AND ATE A 6 OZ. DARK CHOCLATE BAR AND ONLY PUKED ...we called the vet and they said it was ok. IF IT DIES... remember the terrible times you had with it..

First of all u cant rush to it all you got to do is this. Wait for youre dog to poo. If the poo its solid then its fine because it means its not dyhydratated. Then PLay with him a little or just make him moove and examine how he moves if he seems that it can barely stand it s a problem or if u see that hes waving as he walks. If none of this simptoms then youre dog will be fine. My dalmatian ate a chew toy the other days and he is real good so i think it will be fine.

He'll be fine. Chocolate isn't very good for dogs. But my dog has eaten so much chocolate it's crazy. Don't worry about it. He's fine

He will be fine as long as he is just experimenting and doesn't develop an addiction. If so he may reach the point where you have to put him on the A and E tv show Intervention.

it counts on how much he /she ate ..just watch the pup and see if he is doing any thing that seems out side his regular behavior he should be okay ...but if you are worried about him call a 24hr vet and ask what the trouble signs you should be looking for in case you have to rush him in . some dogs respond diffrently to chocolate..i hope you and the pup good luck and best wishes

He will be OK- cheap candy bars like that don't have much actual chocolate in them. He may have an upset stomach for a day or two, but should have no major issues. If the dog eats even a small amount of dark chocolate, though, it would be time for a trip to the vet- it only takes about half an ounce of unsweetened chocolate to be toxic to a dog that size.

hahaha some dogs really love chocolates though it's toxic for them.my dog can't help eating those when she sees us eating too.we hide the chocolates away but she still keeps on barking..still she eats a lot but nothing bad is happening to her..dunno why?!:)

He will be just fine, he will just have some belly problems. Just give him a childs size amount of pepto bismol. My sister's yorkie (Anna Belle) once climbed on the island and ate a Mr. Goodbar cocolate bar, Reeses Peanutbutter Cup King Size, Hersheys bar and Twix. I just gave her some pepto and let her sleep and she was jumpier than ever (probbally a sugar rush) and she was fine!I know he is ok and dont panic,Mazin' Erin
