MY puppy weighs a little over 30 pounds already...how big will he be?

And he is only 3 months old. He is a pit bull / lab mix, but the pit should make him smaller but it seems he may be 100 pounds. Is that about right? what do u think?Actually he's not even 3 mos yet..like 2 months and 3/

    • Its all genetics its prolly the fact he has more lab in him. I wouldnt worry but would look at how much you are feeding him and what you are feeding him An easy way to see if your dog is over weight is to touch his stomach/ rib area. and if he is fat consider cutting down on his food.

    • If he is not overweight ( you can tell by feeling his ribcage, if you have a problem feeling his ribs he is too fat, if you can feel his ribs without pressing he is okay ) then he will probably be between 80-100 lbs. As in all breeds keeping them on the slimmer side will always be best for the animals health. It will keep him from developing arthritis or hip problems when older, not to mention problems with his knees.

    • Im going to say anywhere from 85 to 100 lbs puppies tend to eat and gain more weight when puppies as its all new to them by the time my beagle mix was 3 months he was well on his way to over 24 lbs. I was told he wouldnt be over 30 *L*... both his parents were small as well... he is almost 5 months now and hes stopped eating as much and gaining... Your dog will average out in time... and if you have any worries or concerns about your dog, consult your vet!

    • For labs you can usually take their 4 month weight and multiply that by two and add 5 pounds. For example if puppy weighs 40 lbs by 4 months then you double that weight for 80 and add 5. Worked perfectly for my dog who is a lab/poodle mix.
