Well we have a coton de tulear and he is great with all dogs

They arent computers, you dont get "compatible breeds". I've known soppy pitbulls and labs that would rip a child to shreds given half a chance. Go to a shelter and tell them what you are looking for and they will advise.

shih tzus get along with all dogs. i read a book about it.

i recommend a toy poodle mix but any dog will do depending on you training abilities. toy poodle mixes don't shed witch is a big advantage and they are just the cutest puffballs!! they are calm and loyal.
