The Akbash is a little bit bigger, i think the male is 30-34 and the female 28-32 where as the Kangal is 30-32 for males and 28-30 for females. But kennel clubs will have different height requirements in their standards. Though also, apparently the male Kangal is allowed to be heavier than the male Akbash. though they are pretty much the same size wise.
