Why do I go through so many dogs?

I am still a young person, yet I have had 9 dogs. All but 3 are dead now! What the heck? I loved them all, but it seems like they go so fast!!!!!!!

You haven't gone through dogs until your my previous neighbors.8years, 9 dogs! 5 months ago they had 2 dogs, I'm not sure if they are still alive. They probably aren't.

for about 45 years I have rescued large & extra large dogs, keeping only 5 at a time. some lasted for years & years , where some died due to health reasons. I have no idea how many dogs have gone through here or how many I have buried out back. now I have 3 dogs & they are the last of my rescues, getting to old.Just give homes to the ones you can & let them live a better life than they had. You may get some help from some of the rescues, provide beds, crates, food, just depends on how much they can afford to help you.

Your question made me stop and think. I had a GSD as a teen, he lived to be 14. In our married life (37 years) hubby and I have had 8 dogs. One was rehomed. One died in an accident. One had cancer and was euthanized early in life. Five lived to old age, one was 15, the others 12-13. We now have a 9 month old GSD. I hope she will live a long time.
