How do I keep my cat out of my flower pots in the house?

I've tried shooting the dang thing, but he keeps cashing in on those 9 lives.

Place moth balls in the plants or red pepper.

i have that probelm and the best way is just to have hanging plants that they can not reach.. some plants can actually kill a cat.. they want to get into them and play with the dirt.. but the easiest solution is to try to get them all hanging, or put into a room where the cat cannot go into...

Move the flower pots outside

you might want to try putting small pebbles or stones on top of the dirt in the port, then they can't dig up all the dirt.

Spray it with water

DO NOT.... I REPEAT... DO NOT PUT MOTH BALLS DOWN. THEY ARE extremely dangerous to cats, and your cat will die. Move the pots outside, or higher up, but for the love of kitty, don't put moth balls down.

they sell stuff at the grocery store called stay away, not sure if it's safe for plants. worth a shot, just read the warnings. it works on furniture, etc.

You have to train her!!! It takes a while but with all mycats you spray them once in the face with a water bottlebut only once and only when she actually is doing it not when you think she is going to it might take a while but it is worth it.

Rub appple bitter on his nose

USE A SPRAY BOTTEL EVERY TIME SHE GOES NERE IT

Use any kind of aromatic herb pepper, mint ect. You can also use a shaker (a can with coins or rocks ) to frighten the cat away...ps you may need pistol classes

I have the same problem with my cat. I finally had to hang my plants or put them up high.

I have the ultimate answer, just get rid of the plants. This way I only have to clean the trays, not the whole place after they had the plant over, had a wee in the soil on the floor (cause they always do it when you are out) and then left muddy pawprints everywhere (especially in the wardrobe after I have done a load of washig)Not that I have issues with my cats you see... They are just in charge...

he probably wants the greens (helps digestion) they actually sell little indoor grass plants at the pet shop for cats...give him an alternative

put Aloe around the flower pots they don't like the sent of Aloe

Isn't there a spray that discourages them from nibbling on the plants?

a little ammonia will keep him away. You could also dip your finger in hot sauce and rub it around the rim of the pot (wow, say that again a few times to yourself lol!!!) and anyway, they HATE hot sauce, it will also keep them off cord chewing. You could also use vinegar, but my cat likes vinegar? weird feline.
