How can I stop my dog from peeing in the house?

I have a 6 month old male (neutered) pug. He is taken out regularly (every time he sniffs anything or anywhere) and is crated. A few times a week, he goes in the house, usually he hikes his leg on the bottom of the couch. Or he'll "go" in my living room, a room that has a lot of open space. How can I train him to stop?

Scold him whenever he did that

Buy him a kennel put it in the garden, let him live there

The best way I found to train my dog, was when I caught him doing his business i'd, tap him on his nose, say No! pick him up and carry him outside for him to finish there. It took a couple of months of doing this until he no longer did it. Now he will sit at the back door if he needs to go and if no one pays any attention he will bark until we open the door.

put a diaper on him when he's in the house

There might be better methods, but here's my suggestion.Since you are training your pup to go outside, that's great! Keep doing that.Now, because he is still a pup, you can be sure there will be accidents at home. My suggestion would be to put news papers in the kitchen or a place where there is a tile floor so your pup can pee there. Easy clean up!When your pup gets a little older he will understand that peeing and pooing is reserved for the outside. He'll then cry or scratch at the door for you to let him out.

once a dog has done his job in the house, it pretty much marks his spot and is hard to change his habits. Try taking him outside often and praise him when he goes outside. It is a long, drawn out training but in the long run it is worth it.

if u stick a dogs nose in his pee or poop hell be less likely to do it again bc he wont like the smell of it and he wont want that experience again. i know it seems gross but it worked the forst time on my dog.

you need to have your pug checked for a urinary infection because dogs will pee in the house if they have a bladder infection

try doggy pads they make them for potty traing dogs the pad is the only place they will pee if it is done correctly.they also have spray for places dogs love to pee you spray it in the area the dog should not pee there again!again the training pads do work try a pet store or even wal-mart animal section.good luck!

crate training... keep the dog in the crate for a few hours, take him/her outside to do duty, then take him back inside and reward him... then back into the crate. do this for about a week or two and works like a charm
