    • Your bird is a Yellow Naped Amazon. They have been documented to live over 100 years. They originate from South America, and therefore require a low protein diet consisting of lots of fruits and nuts. Amazons are tempermental, and can quickly change moods and can be agressive. But they are very intellegent and are good talkers. There are an awfull lot of good web sites that will supply you with info. • I suggest that you join an amazon parrot group at yahoo groups. You will not only learn what species your bird is but much about her behavior, nutritional needs are and any other questions you may have. From what you say, your amazon could either be a yellow naped; double yellow head or one of the yellow fronted species. Amazons live about as long as humans do. Good nutrition is the key to longevity.
