What is the best brand of fish tank filters?

I have ehiem filters right now. They are cleaning a 100 gallon tank.

For hang on filters, you cannot beat Marineland Biowheel or Hagen Aquaclear. Both are affordable and reliable.For canister filters, I love Eheim. They just work. The Hagen Fluvals are also very good.For a wet/dry box nearly any brand will work. You can make your own with a plexiglass box and some pool tubing.For your 100 gallon system, I would keep on with the Eheims. If you want to add some flowl get a biowheel.

I have all Hagen products on my tanks... there are 14 tanks going at the moment. On the smaller ones I like the Aquaclear because they are just so simple. Any tank I have over 35 gallons is run on a Fluval. I prefer 2 smaller filters to one large one, I really think it keeps the water in better condition. (On my 130 gallon, I use 2 Fluval 304s)The part i like the best about these 2 is that i use bulk Media. I buy 2 liters of Carbon, a ton of polywool, and bulk Ammonia Remover and I am set for a few months. It's so much cheaper and I can layer the media nicely.

brand name doesnt matter. what is important is you take care of it as you take good care of your fishes. they complement each other.
