How do I keep my dog in my fenced in yard?

I have a large breed dog that climbs the fence to get out every time I put her outside. I'm going nuts!! I've smacked her on the head (she's a red nose pit and cur mix) which does nothing, I've sprayed her with the hose when she starts to climb, I've stayed out there with her thinking that she's looking for me but she goes potty and runs for the fence. Any ideas besides getting a shock collar? Just way expensive!

get an invisible fence, its a thing that shocks ur dog when it walks through it, it really works!

no real good way that is cheap,electric fence,,,,, or shock collar is about it.

I had this problem if you have trees all you do is get a rope and another rope and make a circle tie it on the rope from the trees then on her collar it helped me!!!!If you do it I hope it helps you!!!

For heavens sakes just don't tie it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Electric fence is the least expensive.The invisable fences work the best.

anything- but do NOT tie ur dog up and leave him unattended. By dog died that way- choked to death even tho it was a long leash.

look in a pet product supply book or pet store for a anti jump harness. Works very well.
