How do I stop my puppy from biting all the time?

I have a german shephard puppy who is about 5 months old. Everytime I want to play with him or pet him softly, all he does is turn to my hand and starts biting.It's okay if he bites but he bites me to the point where it really hurts.How do i make him a well behaved dog and stop him from the biting?Give me the best answer.

never ok to biteyou take to professional trainer at this point and learn how to trainall dogs need training, exercise, socialization, grooming and vet care

Give him a chew toy, but when he bites you, hit his nose (not to hard).
