How do I keep my dog from barking outside?

I have tried using the hose/squirt gun, but he is so fast I can't get him...So that is pretty much out of the question. He is a black lab/chihuahua mix But he can be a pain!

Barking has its reasons. Perhaps the dog needs attention and to be played with, perhaps it wants to warn off potential trespassers. Perhaps it needs a muzzle but on the other hand, it could be a nervous disorder. Dogs are bred to be our companions. He might just want to attract attention, any attention good or bad just as long as it is attention. Children will do the same thing when ignored regularly. Act out for the attention even if it is bad or negative. Its better than nothing.Now, I am not saying you are ignorning your dog but ...wait a minute....lab chihuahua mix? Who was on top? BOL

You can buy from the pet store or off the internet a device to stop barking. Go to; upco.com I've seen them there. I'm sorry I can't remember at the moment If it's called NO BARK , BARK STOPPER,, but it's something like that or the site will tell you the phone number. Call and tell them the problem and they'll tell you what it is and how much it is. They're really nice. It was about 30-35 dollars , I believe. But it last for a few years. Some will even keep the neighbors dogs queit too...lol...Good Luck...I hope I helped you.

? lab/chi....... OK. Your dog probably needs attention, food or water shelter. And a new owner who has more time for a dog.

Keep him inside. Lab/chihuahua??? Both can be extremely nervouse breeds if not treated properly. But I don't know many chihuahuas who are kept out in a yard.Have you thought about obedience training?
