yea it's known to poisin them if they eat alot. but my dog just yesterday ate a whole bar of kitkat. the dummy jumped on the table and ate it and she's fine.

It could be, depending on the quantity and type of chocolate. Ussually pure chocolate is more toxic than the milky one. the toxic substances are known as methilxantines, some of them are actually used in medicine( aminophiline, teophiline, teobromine, the last is in the chocolate) as broncodilators, and have effects in other organs, like the kidneys( diuretic), and the heart( can elevate heart rate). But teobormine can also cause serious problems, specially in large quantities, to the heart, brain and other organs as well. The treatment is sintomathic, there is no antidote, so DO NOT FEED CHOCOLATE TO YOUR DOG OR CAT!!
