You need to call a vet, and you should not give a dogperoxide, some times dogs cannot belch or throw it up, and it will hurt their intestines, a vet should have been called first and you should have taken their advice instead.good luck
How much did you give? It can take up to 30 minutes or so in a larger dog to have effect. Also, Hydrogen Peroxide turns into just water if it's old...so it would have no effect if that were the case.
YOU SHOULD NOT GIVE A DOG PEROXIDE - it is very caustic and cause damage to his intestines or throat going down and coming up.Get your dog to an emergency vet - NOW.
Oh geez! You should have consulted your vet before trying to make your dog vomit. You could cause more harm by not knowing what you're doing.Anyway, it should anywhere from almost immediate to several minutes.
Everyone should know what to do if you have a child or pet ingest something they shouldn't. Sometimes you dilute by giving fluids//// sometimes you use syrup of ipecac or other.Poison control will tell you what to do-- but you may be the only one there to help in time. http://www.expertvillage.com/video/23422_dog-first-aid-poisonous.htm
How much does your dog weigh? How much hydrogen peroxide did you give? Hydrogen peroxide is commonly advised by some vets, usually at a dose of 1/2 teaspoon per 5 pounds of dog (if your dog weighs 50 pounds you would give a total of 5 teaspoons). You can repeat this once if there is no vomiting within 15 minutes. DO NOT GIVE MORE THEN 2 DOSES. There are vets who do not like hydrogen peroxide because it can cause bleeding in the throat or stomach of your dog (not always) or a condition called aspiration. Since there are other safer drugs to cause your dog to vomit, some veterinarians will advise you to bring your dog into the office instead of giving hydrogen peroxide at home. It sounds like a vet advised you to give the hydrogen peroxide and determined that it was necessary based on your dog's weight and the amount and type of chocolate your dog ate. If not, call an emergency clinic and they will advise you.
