What type of dogs are light brown with green eyes?

Check out this picture: http://www.flickr.com/photos/thestarrydynamo/2526178832/ Are these types of dogs full chocolate labs or are they mixed with something? Also, are they good with children? Thanks.

    • Labs are great dogs if you have children! and yeah, that looks like a pure lab. Chocolate labs can have a lighter eye color like that (it is more grey than green) My AKC chocolate lab has eyes like this. I also have a yellow lab with golden yellow eyes and a yellow lab with the typical dark brown eyes. (All AKC) so yeah, labs are awesome and sweet and great with all people, children included.

    • That is an adorable puppy, but may very well be a mix. It's possible for a lab to have those eyes and that they will possibly change a bit as the pup grows. We really have no absolute way of knowing from that pic. While they're possible, green eyes are actually considered a fault for labs:THE OFFICIAL STANDARD for the LABRADOR RETRIEVER:"Eyes - Kind, friendly eyes imparting good temperament, intelligence and alertness are a hallmark of the breed. They should be of medium size, set well apart, and neither protruding nor deep set. Eye color should be brown in black and yellow Labradors, and brown or hazel [light brown or yellow brown] in chocolates."http://www.thelabradorclub.com/standard/officialstandard.html..So therefore no responsible breeder would be producing these. My guess is that the pup is a lab/weimaraner mix. Check out the pictures of "Casey" towards the bottom of this page. They look almost identical!http://dogbreedinfo.com/labmaraner.htmBut again, no responsible breeder would produce mixes so your best bet if you'd like a dog who resembles that one is to search local shelters, rescues, or petfinder.com and maybe you'll come across a similar choc lab who needs a good home :)Oh and yes labs are typically very good with children, a bit hyper, but very kind.
