How does chocolate affect dogs?

my dog likes chocolate and he bites when i try to take it away.

Chocolate is toxic.. it can kill dogs. Trust me, I have seen the effects first hand. Chocolate contains Theobromine, which creates a toxicity in dogs. Quit allowing your dog to ingest chocolate.

they can't digest chocolate properly. and macadamia nuts is also just as bad.

IT IS VERY BAD CAN KILL HIM if he accidently eats SOME then its alright but its still not alright to give it to him but if he eats ALOT that is very bad

Chocolate is undigestable for dogs so when they eat it, it's toxic to them. surprisingly, mines accidentally snuck a kisses. shes still alive. so a little doesnt kill them, but still dont give them any at all.

dogs can not process a toxin in chocolate that we can. Even if they only have a little bit it could have seroius consiquences especially if the dog frequently only has a little bit. It will destroy their liver. You need to keep all chocolate especially chocolate used to melt (into molds) away from your dog. if he does get into it you have to bring him to the vet so they can make him vomit it up. You wont notice immediate effects but it DOES kill them

This can overwork their liver or kidney (not quite sure which) If a dog has too much chocolate it will overwork their organs. So a hersey's chocolate bar could easily kill a chihuahua. you should deffantly not give them chocolate if they have to much they could die. If he bights you then tap him gently on the nose and say no! try and find a diffrent treat that is healthy for you dog and that he will like so you can give him it whenever he wants. good luck!
