Is it bad to keep giving a dog chocolate?

My cousin has a dog that actually likes chocolate, she eats it and never gets sick at all. Its like shes immune, is it safe?

*ALL* Dogs "like" chocolate.The dog is not immune. Give the dog too much, or the "right" kind one day and that dog is as good as dead.

It depends what chocolate it is if your giving it galaxy mars or a chocolate a human would eat its very bad for your dog, if you are giving it a chocolate you can buy from the pet shop its safe

What happens when your cousin is baking something with dark chocolate and leaves it out on the counter for the dog to find? You should never give a dog chocolate! Your cousin's dog may not be sick yet but he will be. Dogs cannot eat chocolate, just ask a vet. Ask your cousin not to do it anymore, it's not fair to the dog.

"Some" dogs are highly allergic to chocolate. It is lethally toxic in sufficient doses. In smaller breeds it's the worst.Read what this site has to say about what happens when this causes an allergic reaction. Maybe show your cousin. There are other things too worth reading on here.

Well the darker the chocolate is the more dangerous , 1 peace of really dark chocolate can kill it , while milk chocolate probably wont , but anyways its not immune , and its dangerous , dont give dogs chocolate

Theobromine is the source of the poison in chocolate. Humans can usually ingest it just fine, but dogs, not so much. Different chocolates contain different amounts of theobromine, which acts like caffeine. The continued ingestion of it will continue to make the dog sick. If it overingests it, it could die. Other little-known dog poisons are grapes and onions, but they tend to do less damage than chocolate.

Most dogs will enjoy human chocolate if allowed to eat it but human chocolate is a poison to dogs. Please don't continue to give your dog human chocolate. Instead, why not try some choc drops specifically made for dogs? They enjoy these too.

No. Not safe or a good idea to give a dog chocolate all the time.Dark Chocolate, Baker's chocolate, or Pure Cocoa should NEVER be given..not even once in a while.

Heck no! I am surprised that her dog hasn't died! She needs to stop giving the chocolate to the dog because it is highly toxic. If she really loves that dog then she will quit giving it that stuff. If she wants to give her dog a special treat, she can get it doggy ice cream (made specifically for dogs) peanut butter, eggs ( only one and served raw) carrots ( only one) and of course dog biscuits. Those are okay.

Yes its bad. It affects their circulatory system and can be lethal in large amounts. Bigger dogs can take some amount of chocolate without being harmed but I'd suggest not running the risk and keeping her away from any more chocolate altogether.

She's not immune. She just likes it. Chocolate tastes good but is extremely toxic to all dogs. Mainly the cocoa that is mixed into the chocolate. Too much of it will kill her, guaranteed.
