How much chocolate is a good amount for my dog?

My dog loves chocolate especially the Hershy's kind. I like to give him the king size bars after he learns how to do a new trick. Do you think these are too big because I'm a human and I can't even eat the whole thing. Thanks. Also same question for chocolate ice cream.Seriously Sam stop trolling. Sam isn't trolling, haven't you ever heard not to give a dog chocolate? Chocolate (and a lot of other human foods) aren't good for dogs. They can get really sick and too much could kill him. It really depends on the dog though. My aunts Bichon got very sick off of chocolate, but I have a golden that ate some chocolate cake before (probably like a fourth of it, but it was kind of a small cake) and she was fine.

It's best not to give any chocolate to a dog because it's too easy to reach a lethal dose of theobromine and caffeine. Dark chocolate has about 160mg per ounce. It only takes 100mg per Kg of your dog's body weight to reach a lethal dose. He will experience increased heart rate and respirations before reaching the lethal dose. Why give him something that is deadly to him, even as a treat? He would probably enjoy slurping antifreeze, but you know it can kill him. Use a different treat to reward his behavior.
