claws growing out of my dogs arm?? very freaked out people!!!?

alright please help because i am very confused and weirded out.. outside the front left paw of my dog above her last toe.. there are little black lines coming out maybe 6 or more. they are growing out of my dog. they have the texture of a claw but much thinner. they are black. this is very unusual and strange as i have had this dog for three years and never seen this.She is a miniature dachshundare these really little claw things growing out of her skin? it bugs her if i pull on them. what are the possibilites this is? could they be some sort of bug planted in her? i doubt that but it freaks me out. i think they are little claws. not sure thoughHELP?to those of you telling me to see a vet you are not helping the situation at all.it is saturday night what do you want me to do most vet places arent open on the weekend and i asked you all because im trying to avoid seeing a vet and spending hundreds of dollars. ffs.

Your description makes a vet visit seem pretty urgent. I've never seen anything like this before. I would, however, like to see a photo.EDIT: For anyone saying OMG IT'S A DEW CLAW, come on. Dogs have ONE, not six or more.

Those are called dew claws. They can be removed by the vet or left alone, many are removed and that's why you've probably never seen them. No problem, quit freaking out!

Take her to the VETI know this sounds weird, but what you are describing kind of sounds like quills from a Porcupine to me.

hmmm dogs usually have 5 toes and 5 claws growing from them.it might be a cracked claw.

There are people who train for years to handle medical concerns of pets; they're called veterinarians.They have their own section in the phone book. Call one and make an appointment. You'd be amazed how easy it is.
