    • My dogs do it for 2 reasons:1. We have pine trees in our yard, and the pine tar irritates their pads.2. Because our dogs are house dogs, the hairs that grow between their pads do not get wore down by walking in dirt, etc. These hairs get long and irritate their feet.(I hope a vet gives you a better and more detailed answer then this.)

    • Constant paw licking is often a sign of allergies, and wouldn't hurt to have an allergy screen done by the vet. If he's on a grocery store brand food, simply upgrading to a higher quality food may help too.
