How to help my dogs injured leg?

My 10 month old puppy has injured his right hind leg and won't put any weight in it. I don't think it's broken because he didn't cry very loudly and he doesn't mind if you touch it, but when he puts weight on it he yelps. What can it be? What should i do? How long does it take to heal? I AM TAKING HIM TO THE VET SOON. But for the time being what can I do to help him?

Try to keep him as quiet as possible and get him to the vet!!!

Carry him instead , don't put him on the floor . I think he injured his joint . Wait for the vet to give him some panadol instead .
