Dog Pain Medicine??? Question?

My weim (Gracie) was hit by a car yesterday morning- She and we were lucky- only one small fracture in her "ankle" along with lots of swelling, soreness and road burn. The vet gave us Tramadol for her pain. I looked it up on the WebMD and this seems like potent stuff. Has anyone else had to use it? And if so, anything to watch for? Thanks foryour answers.

It is used in humans too and it is potent. I was prescribed it once for severe pain. It gave me panic attacks and I had to stop taking it. Most people and dogs it will make drowsy.

I've used it (well, for a dog) without any ill effects.
