    • It has been a few years since I had a dog spayed, so prices could have easily gone up.My Pom was 11.8 pounds when I had her spayed. Her spay cost was $375. This was in addition to her having to come in for a "first visit" and be examined before her spay, that was another $100.So total cost just under $500

    • It can be anywhere from about $50 through a humane society program to about $300 at a private veterinarian. The only way to get an accurate idea is to contact vets and shelters in your area and do some comparison shopping.

    • The price rage can be huge depending on what part of the country you live in as well as the quality of care you want your dog to have. One thing on your side is size, it will require less anesthesia for a smaller dog so it will cost a little less for a smaller dog. If you go to a low cost clinic it will certainly cost less but they won't be doing as much monitoring of your pet and there is an increased risk of your dog not tolerating the anesthesia. This could result in your pet not making it through the surgery.Things to keep in mind and ask about;Your dog should have a full preanesthetic blood screen. This test will make sure your dogs organs can tolerate the medicines they will be using. It is also a good way to make sure your pets organs are working properly (something to take seriously when owning a toy breed). A lot of vets will let this slide when the dog is young and "appears" healthy. By not having this done you'll save money and increase the risk to your pet while it is under anesthesia. Will your pet be monitored? It is also important to find out if technicians will be monitoring your pets breathing, blood pressure, blood oxygen levels and temperature. These are all things that can change when a pet is experiencing a complication with one of the drugs used. If a change occurs and someone is monitoring your pet, they will notice it and make the appropriate adjustments. If your pet is NOT being monitored, and a complication does occur, it will go unnoticed and could result in loosing your pet during surgery. If your dog is female, it is a more invasive procedure and she'll experience more discomfort after surgery. If you go to a quality veterinary, they will administer long acting pain medicine, another "cost" that can be cut at the expense of your pets comfort. Those are some factors that will effect the price of the procedure. It is important to recognize what the risks of compromising price vs. care are to your pet, BEFORE deciding where you take your dog.

    • it depends entirely on which vet you go to, the best way to find out is call various veterinary clinics and ask. They will tell you the cost based on the size of the dog/bitch. i have a small border collies cross and a jack russel and was quoted 60 quid per dog

    • it varies between the different vets and the size of your dog.we got a quote for getting our female st bernard spayed and it was £250. i know smaller dogs are cheaper.people on here can only guess as we dont know what area you are in and prices vary so much in each town.look for vets numbers on yell.com and ring around to get a quote.

    • well i really don't know why you would want to spay and or neuter your soon to be puppy. think that dogs don't know that people just think that dogs don't have balls or a vagina they know it would you like it if someone took away yours i would get a boy i have a boy toy poodle and all they do is just fuck a stuffed animal and it looks hilarious and when he get excited his red dick comes out and that normal girls have their periods for like 7 days in their whole life i think do some research first please

    • The girl above me is totally clueless (and apparently has never been introduced to punctuation). Please do not listen to her!Getting your dog "fixed" is one of the smartest/healthiest things you can do for your pup. I'm getting my cocker neutered in 2 weeks and it's costing me $100 for the procedure, and $50 for the fluids & such. It's really not too bad, and it's worth it!

    • Just had my dog castrated & it cost me £245, would have been £200 if he'd been under 10kg though. Don't forget the other costs: booster injections, worming, flea stuff. Expensive having a dog y'know, think hard about it ok.
