    • Not any kind of expert/w lizards, but have raised a few Lampropeltis triangulum amaura.Louisiana Milk snakes before I tick you off. A species that commonly has wormswhen wild caught. Check/w people in the reptile section here to find out the names of a couple of them, but regular reptile worm meds. work in most cases.Worms can be detected in the stool with a magnifying glass (or without if as many as it likely would take for what's happening to your Savanna). Here's one for the worst cases, and a ...very...long one at that...Long ago and far far away...I had a fellow herpetologist tell me he had perfected a wayto use the most potent but also very deadly to King snakes worm medicine on Kingsnakes. Problem is I've forgotten the name of it so you'd need to find that outperhaps by looking up a herpetological society on internet and e-mailing themabout it. As in "what's the name of that worm medicine that's harmful to King snakesso I don't make the mistake of using it on my king snake ? And as long as you'redoing that just ask them about the Savanna/worms.That person said that if you dilute the worm med. with 10 parts water 7 out of 10king snakes will live through it. That is why I said very long shot.

    • When did he last pee or poop ?What colour and consistency was it ?You should NEVER feed ANY reptile on processed meat [including tinned cat & dog foods] - it is full of salt and cheap crap !He is probably weak because of too much fat in the diet and little or no calcium, vitamins or minerals.Unless you keep him outdoors all the year round he needs high quality UV light + basking heat to digest the meal and provide vitamin D3. This should be provided by a one or two160 watt mercury vapour UV & Heat Lamp such as the Zoo Med PowerSun lamp. This should have the height adjusted so that the ground temperature directly under the lamp is 105ºF.The lamp should be on for 12 – 14 hours a day.http://styr-paa-dyr.dk/upload/Krybdyr/Exo_Terra_Solar_Glo.jpgYour monitor needs a complete change of menu(1) whole defrosted rats & mice(2) whole, un-gutted trout(3) cuttlefish bones wrapped in thin slices of raw salmon(4) roast a whole chicken [to kill salmonella etc. in the flesh] without salt or seasoning. Give him ¼ portions complete with skin and bones or just coarsely shredded.(5) lean raw beef with bones in it such as tail, shank, lower leg or ribs(6) cooked turkey left-overs(7) small dead birds such as ducks, chicks and clean road-kill(8) any cooked fish [boiled, steamed or baked only]Add a multi-vitamin tablet (intended for adult humans) to every meal - cut a pocket or slit and hide the medication in the food. Fish can have the tablet in the mouth. If you have provided a source of UV light in the past then it needs LOADS of calcium carbonate, as well as animal bones, use calcium tablets or crushed oyster shell tablets WITHOUT vitamin D3 in every meal. It needs at least 5 grams [ 5000 milligrams] a week in the food.If you have not provided UV light use calcium WITH vitamin D3 supplements for 4 months [long-term oral vitamin D3 is toxic if you give too much for too long]. Then switch to plain calcium as above.Get your Savannah out in bright, warm, natural sunlight whenever possible..==================================================================Force feeding a 4' monitor lizard is not to be undertaken lightly. You can try raw eggs - beaten up with calcium & vitamin powder. If he will take that then try adding a little ground beef to the egg. There is also a liquid feed available called Oxbow Carnivore Carehttp://www.theonlinepetstore.com.sg/images/oxbow_carnivorecare_petfood.jpgthat you mix with water and squirt into his mouth. With such a sick lizard you really should seek the help of a specialist reptile vet !.
