Is it safe to add bleach to a dogs bath water to kill fleas?
My dog has horrible fleas, and someone mentioned to me that adding bleach to the water kills them. I wonder if anyone knows that this will help without harming the dog?

Absolutely not! It would kill the fleas but also damage (possibly severely) your dogs skin. Please use proper things such as frontline that are made for a dogs sensitive skin
if you had fleas would you have a bath in bleach?? i dont think so, you would come out itchier than a hessian thong. get down to the pet store or the vets, they will have some proper flea treatment.
NO! Take your dog to PetSmart's grooming salon. They can give him a flea shampoo which will kill all the live fleas on him. After the bath, put Frontline on him which will kill any eggs he may have. That should get rid of the flea problem within a week or so.
Frontline scares me because it goes into your pet's bloodstream to wait for fleas to bite (ive researched this one). I was able to get rid of my dog's fleas using Diatect Flea & Tick Killer. It is a powder that is safe to humans and pets, but kills fleas. Rub it in to your pet's fur, his bedding, and the carpet around it to get rid of the fleas. Good luck!
