My dog loves to eat people food. If I would let him he would only eat people food instead of dog food?

Why don't they put a taste into dog food that dogs will really look forward to eating. I get the impression that my dog eats his dog food only because he's hungry not because he like the taste of it.With today's technology they should be able to make dog food have a taste dogs will find so delicious. That dogs will prefer their food to people food@ *Sombra* Its easier said than done. It hard to look at my dog staring at my food with a hungry yearning look on his face.

If your dog doesn't have a taste for dog food it's probably because you're feeding a low quality dog food that is loaded with corn and genetically modified fillers. Would you want to eat a one ounce cube of steak smothered in ten pounds of corn that has been processed in every way imaginable?

Yeah, i know what ya mean. My little dog does the same thing & i know she wouls rather eat people food. But i think its because she like variety & is tired of the same taste all time. And its healthier.

totally agree.same with my dogs, if we don't feed them our food, they'll eventually eat their food but they tend to nose it around the floor and play with it, rather than eat it. I like to prepare chicken breast and things of that nature for them.

The only reason a dog SHOULD eat is because it's hungry.There's no reason to do anything at all to 'enhance' a dog's food. If the dog is hungry, it will eat.A good dog food is nutritionally-balanced for a dog's needs. A 'people-food' diet is not.ADDED: Sure it's hard not to give in to those pleading eyes. For the sake of your dog's health, do it anyway. And please don't allow your dog to groak while you're eating. It's rude. Dogs should be out of the room when their humans are eating.

dog food is cost effective it uses cheep meatpeople wouldn't be willing to pay the price to feed the dog if it cost the same to feed themselvesif you realy want to you can make ur own dog food but you will have to look into vitamins or u will make it sick

actually you can just don't feed them grapes onions chocolate or anything with sugar or caffeine or alcohol in it ok milk is not good for them so you can cancel out most dairy products. dogs love garlic. you try it that is what i do if it taste like it has no flavor than you go and buy another brand. you don't need technology to feed your dog you can do it your self.

There actually is a kind of dog food that is healthy for your dog. Have you ever tried giving your dog Beneful? If you haven't you should try giving it to him.I have 2 dogs and they love it. They scarf their food down like within a minute. I give my older dog 3 scoops of dog food and my younger dog 1 1/2 scoops of dog food because my older dog scarfs her food down faster than my younger dog.
