    • All dog breeds are plagued to some extent with health issues. If you want a healthy dog, find a reputable breeder who screens all their breeding dogs for genetic health conditions. They will be able to show you proof of health screenings, and should also be able to tell you about any health problems within the bloodline. Stay away from back yard breeders.

    • Most breeds have health issues, due to overbreeding. I suggest that you research all the breeds you like, see if they fit your lifestyle and then see what their health is generaly like. PS: All dogs can have separation anxiety. My husky LOVES people but we can leave him alone all day and he is great! One of my bros dog(lab) urinates all over the floor and chews he is 3 years old. My other bros dog pees and poos and chews. My husky has never been one to chew and was quick to house train. So really its all up to the training. If you have a balanced well trained, and excercised dog he or she should not have problems with separation anxiety, no matter the breed. Also Huskies and collies and all other working breed dogs absolutely need lots of training and exercise. Make sure to do to your homework before picking your new dog!
