    • Why ask us to estimate when you can CALL YOUR VET and ask them how much they charge per pup when doing litters? Fact is since these pups should have been seen within 24-48 hours of birth to make sure everyone as well as the mother was healthy you should already know the cost.It varies from vet to vet and even customer to customer if they are a regular breeder or not. When my mother bred our regular vet usually charged around 10-20 bucks per pup when they were brought in.Safe bet have at least 400 set aside.

    • WHAT!!!Did you seriously just say "if needed".Having shots and worming is incredibly important,it's not something you can just avoid. If your puppies don't get their shots they will get sick.

    • Sorry to say it but it isn't "if needed". With 10 dogs, if one of them catches parvovirus, bordetella, rabies, worms, fleas, kennel cough or any other infection/disease it will spread like wild fire. They all NEED their shots and worming. Phone up local vets and get an accurate quote. Please do not just leave it if it is too much, you decided to let your dog get pregnant so you are responsible for the puppies, and for the mother.

    • You'd have to talk to your vet. Many vets will discount a breeder's litter if you are bringing them in all at once. But figure about $20 per puppy (I'm guessing) and see if that's about right or that's a discount.

    • Why didn't you ask the vet when you took the pups, and b!tch, in for a checkup within 48 hours after whelping and to have the pups' dewclaws removed? How much did your vet charge for a visit when you took the b!tch in for an ultrasound and regular checkups during her pregnancy? I'm guessing that you are probably looking at around $400.00 for this next visit.

    • You need to call your vet and find out. It's possible to do vaccinations yourself if you know what you're doing. Some vets will give a discount for several animals but lots do not. My vet charges $50 per dog for one rabies vaccination. Puppies need a combo shot that includes parvo, distemper, etc. This is good information to know ahead of time, before you have a litter - it costs a nice chunk of money for care of your pregnant mom (who should be up on her shots, too), all the extra food she and 10 puppies will need and the cost of vaccinations for all those puppies. You'll also have the expense of advertising them to find them homes.
