Accuracy of dog breed selectors...?

*Note: this is strictly for my own amusement and curiosity because I have a cold and can't sleep *I'm curious to see how accurate dog breed selectors are when trying to see which breeds you are most/least compatible with.Here's how it works...Go to this link: http://animal.discovery.com/breedselector/dogselector.doFill out the questions as if you were searching for your ideal dog. Then post your results (top 8)Then, go back an fill out the questions again, but this time fill in the exact opposite answers that you filled out the first time (ie, if you said you wanted a high energy dog the first time, fill in that you want a mellow couch potato this time) This should show which breeds you're least compatible with. Then post the top 8 results.How accurate are your results? Was your favorite breed the #1 dog you were compatible with, or at least in the top 8? I have a pit bull and they are by far my favorite breed. I've also had a dane before and I think Ridgebacks and anatolians are lovely.

Curly-Coated Retriever 100%Spinone Italiano 100%American Foxhound 99%English Foxhound 99%English Setter 99%Harrier 99%Pointer 99%Welsh Springer Spaniel 99%2 breeds I've owned and like- Cavalier's and Labradors came at 96% These are interesting results- I'm very interested in Spinone for my next dog and have contacted breeders in the past. So i'm fairly certain thats a good fit. There are several hounds on my list though, and I'm not really a hound person. I've had a basset in the past and while i liked her, she was not my ideal dog, mostly due to the hound characteristics. 2nd test-Briard 91%Giant Schnauzer 91%Weimaraner 91%Kuvasz 90%Miniature Pinscher 89%Bouvier des Flandres 88%Affenpinscher 86%Borzoi 86%Fairly accurate here. Most of these I wouldn't consider. A weim I've considered, but only adults with unusually calm temperaments. -Neb

I found that possibly 50% of the dogs were inappropriate for me since they didn't ask the right questions. My own favorite breed, the pyr, was WAY down the list at 93% rather than near the top. Some of the breeds I would be compatible with WERE up in the top, however, and some there were much like the pyr in breed traits, so it's amazing that they were at the top, but the pyr was not.-!-
