at what age do cairn terrier puppies settle down?

Thinking of buying a cairn terrier age 6-9 months, but didnt really want a puppy - at what age does this breed of dog start to settle into older dog ways?

To be honest it could be any age but I would say around 2 to 3 years old to be on the safe side. It actually isn't restricted to breed but the actual dog because you could end up with the only hyper terrier out of the litter. Breed can play a part but you could end up with the exception.

A Cairn terrier probably won't settle down - not on his/her own anyway.These pups need lots of stimulation, exercise and positive reinforcement based training.You can teach them how to relax using principle in Leslie McDevitt's "Control Unleahsed"

Terriers are slow to mentally mature and usually have tons of energy throughout their lifetime. You can expect puppy behaviors until 3-4 years old and high energy until they are geriatric.
