How to treat my dog's eye infection?

My dog has an eye infection but it's the Boxing Day public holiday today, so the vet is closed. What can I do in the meantime to help her before I take her to the vet tomorrow?I wiped away the gunk with a saline solution. Is this OK?

Nothing. Do not put any OTC crap in your dog's eye. Wait to see the vet.

Nothing. Homemade remedies could do more damage.

Wipe the eye with a moist cloth, if she'll let you. Clean out any gunk. Other than that, nothing - putting anything in there could make matters worse.
