How many puppies do border collies have?

Im 14, and we just bred my border collie. She is going to have her puppies in about a week and a half, shes pretty fat right now. How many puppies do border collies usually have on average? Also, what are some good names? thanks

Why the heck would you breed? There are too many unwanted puppies already.

Name them after the puppies in a shelter that will die because there are too many dogs. You have just contributed to pet overpopulation and the euthanasia of perfectly good dogs.

They can have 1 up to about 13 there's no way to know except to get a ultrasound

She should of had her scans at the vets by now which should show how many pups she is carrying. another byb... and more pups to fill the shelters.. when will it end.

4 - 8 puppies, average 6 some names are mist star callie patch bingo make sure you find good homes for the puppies so that they dont end up in the shelter there are too many unwanted dogs and puppies in the shelter that are getting put down every day.after this litter please get your dog spayed.there is no way to know for sure if how many puppies she will have get your mom to take her to the vets to get a scan.oh and if there is any problems get her to a vet right away so you dont put your dogs life in danger.another BYB they never stop.

Wow so you bred your dog and dont even know the basics!?!? Border Collies arent special, theyre litter size isnt gonna be much different than any oter medium to large dog such as spaniels or labs. Did u get ur dog OFA tested. Do you have atleast a 5 gen pedigree on the dog. Is it registered/ and have papers? Does it participate in sports or shows? Did u have it tested for genetic problems? Did u know the puppies have to stay with their mother until atleats 8 wks old? Breeders have homes waiting for puppies before they are even weaned, do u have homes for the dogs. Do u know u will most likely lose money instead of gaining it. Do you have atleast 5k in the bank for emergency vet care for the puppy and mother during and after birth. Good breeders will take back puppies if the new owner decides 4 yrs later they cant or dont want the dog anymore, Oh wait since u most likely didnt check the mother dog for genetic diseases what if all the pups have a genetic problem and the new owners dont want to pay vet bills will u be ablet to take back the dogs. Sooooo overall hows it gonna benefit the breed?

At this point in the pregnancy your parents should have taken her to the vets and know precisely how many pups there are.4-8 I've heard is about average.Good to know that Border Collies aren't exempt from the backyard breeding morons out there.
