    • A good high quality puppy food. Avoid foods like "extreme athlete" where the protein is to high. Mix in with his food, whole milk, cottage cheese and raw eggs. When he get to be six months, transition him to an all raw meat diet with no processed dog foods.

    • Hi,Generally speaking, puppy food is higher in protein and enriched with vitamins, minerals, and fats essential for growth. Here's more info:http://lnk.nu/dogtime.com/rxc.html

    • I would try your best to keep him with mom for a couple more weeks before you seperate them.after that, Try feeding him a good high protein high fat food like Canidae all life stages grain freehttp://www.canidae.com/dogs/grain-free-als/dry.html

    • I have a 7 week old blue pitbull puppy and he looks a little thin. I can see his hip bones and rib bones. I didnt want to get him at such a young age but the mother was starting to reject them. He is in the process of being deworned and he is very playful and active and acts like he is very healthy. Can i feed him simple things like chicken? And what the best brand of puppy food that i can give him to help him gain some extra weight?

    • You know I for one get tired of the excuse that a mother dog is rejecting a 7 week old pup. I have been breeding dogs for over 30 years. And never had a dog reject a pup.So called breeders say this because they don't want the added extra cost of worming and shots. A puppy should be it litter mates to till they are at least 10 weeks, and 12 is better. After 6-7 weeks they should be away from mom but still with siblings. And as for a 7 week old puppy needing to gain weight, well that will come in time.
