    • The top of the line dog food is Wellness CORE and Blue Buffalo Wilderness, but if your low on cash then I would suggest Diamond Naturals (let me point out the "Naturals" on that, plain Daimond dog food is different)...Wellness: http://www.wellnesspetfood.com/index.asp…Blue Buffalo: http://www.bluebuffalo.com/products/blue…Diamond Naturals:http://www.diamondpet.com/products/dogs/There are more dog foods that are as healthy as the first two but those are the best...Diamond Naturals is about 50-70¢ per pound, Blue Buffalo Wilderness and Wellness core is about 2.00$ per pound...Other Blue Buffalo foods are not as good as the Blue Buffalo Wilderness, same goes for Wellness and Wellness CORE...I feed my dogs Diamond Naturals, they don't do very well on plain Diamond dog food but they do great on Diamond Naturals... I might suggest mixing wet and dry just to add a little flavor and because canned food in general has more meat then dry dog food...But if you can afford it I totally suggest the first two dog foods!Good luck!ETA: I wouldn't suggest Eukanuba, its too expensive for the quality it is...ADD: Since it is a puppy and it is a large breed I would suggest a food with less protein because large breeds can have bone problems and brow to rapidly if you give them too much protein, I would suggest Solid Gold WolfCub food...Here is the website and its on the specific food I suggested:http://www.solidgoldhealth.com/products/?product=61&code=180

    • I cannot recommend feeding any of the commercial varieties of meat-flavored baked paste with chemicals added. Instead, why not feed your dog actual food? The dog’s natural diet is raw meat on the bone. Try it. The dog will love it, the diet will help him teethe properly as a pup, satisfy his lifelong need to chew, keep his teeth clean and his feces innocuous.http://www.rawmeatybones.com/ http://preymodelraw.com/how-to-get-started/http://www.rawfed.comhttp://www.rawfeddogs.nethttp://www.rawfeeding.nethttp://www.barxx.comhttp://www.rawlearning.comhttp://pets.groups.yahoo.com/groups.rawfeeding/http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stZCSUJa4EU&NR=1/The basic idea is to approximate a wild diet as closely as possible; raw meat on the bone and small amounts of organ meat [liver is most important, but also kidneys, pancreas, spleen, lungs and what is called green tripe]. Amount to feed is calculated as 2-3% of the dog's ideal adult body weight. Your veterinarian can help you estimate that; then you just do the math. You don’t have to be exact; all amounts are to be averaged over a week or two. Dogs [not toys or puppies] that get big, complicated meals sometimes will eat for two days and then not again for five. All perfectly normal. Most raw feeders that I've read have started their dogs on chicken: it is readily available and inexpensive, plus it is antibiotic- and hormone-free. The fat content is easy to control by how much of the skin you remove. No grain, vegetable or fruit is a significant part of a grey wolf's diet. Dogs are genetically grey wolves.Besides being unnatural, lately it is becoming more and more clear that they simply are not safe:http://www.truthaboutpetfood.com/articles/various-private-label-pet-food-recalls-due-to-aflatoxin.html/===
