    • Well, conformation events happen often, and any number of dogs can show up. Let me answer this question for the AKC/Eukanuba Championship though, as that is the most prestigious.Dogs automatically qualify for the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship by meeting any one of the following criteria: * Dogs ranked in the top 25 of their breed (by breed points only) at the end of the qualifying period (1 Year) * Dogs receiving an all - breed Best in Show at an AKC show held during the qualifying period (1Year) * Dogs winning Best of Breed at a parent club national specialty* (1 Year) * Dogs completing their Grand Championship during the current qualifying period ( 1 year) * Dogs completing their championship with all points earned from the bred-by-Exhibitor Class during the current and prior Qualifying periods of October 10, 2007 to October 7, 2009 (2 Years) * The seven top breed winning dogs from over 60 International Registries and the Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed winners from Crufts (2 Years)2010 hasn't happened yet, so let me find some stats for 2009 and maybe 2008.2009Dobermans.Looks like there were 38 entrants. Best in breed went to CH Protocol's Veni Vidi Vici.http://www.akc.org/nationalchampionship/show/index.cfm?section=breed_results&text_event_number=2009277101&breed_selection=DOBE&ax=get_breed_data&ct=63Boxers16 entrants, one of which won best in group! Working Group - 1st Place CH Duba-Dae's Who's Your Daddy. Best in breed went to the same dog to (the dog had to win Breed in order to compete in Group).http://www.akc.org/nationalchampionship/show/index.cfm?section=breed_results&ax=get_breed_data&ct=8&text_event_number=2009277101&breed_selection=BOX2008DobermanI don't know how many in total entered, but 8 got some sort of award or notable mention. Best in breed was DE LEX LUTHOR FLASH DANCE, but it says that Working Group Award for Bred by Exhibitor went to CH FOXFIRE'S LOVE MONSTER.http://www.akc.org/nationalchampionship/index.cfm?text_event_number=2008277101&section=breed_results&breed_selection=B|DOBE|600|Doberman%20Pinscher&ax=get_breed_data&ct=67&text_event_number=2008277101BoxerAt least 4 entered and got an award or notable mention. Best in breed was CH EIN-VON'S JUST A RUMOR.
