Is it bad to pick up your dog while he is sleeping?

I know that you should not pick up a puppy a lot when they are sleeping because they needs lots of rest. But...I have an older chihuahua (2years) as well, is it bad for him if I pick him up and pet him or put him on my lap while he is sleeping. He doesn't seem to mind it, I think he enjoys it he curls back up and sleeps or wags his tail. Just wondering..... Thanks!

Not at all.. dogs have the wonderful gift of being able to go right back to sleep!

No. Dogs love contact. They are social animals. Which mean as a pact, if they are disturbed, they adjust.

sounds like the lil one is a bit spoiled with you picking him/her up and constantly cuddliing!!i say spoil away!!

i dont think it matters. i pet my dog all the time when shes sleeping. i have to push her out of the way so i have somewhere to sleep.lol. shes lazy.

No, it's not hard on adults, but puppies should be left to sleep.

Pick him up!!! Hold him, hug him, kiss him. I think that dogs love to be loved. My dogs do.
