What type of dog would be best for me?

I would like a medium/large dog (preferably large) that is smart, easy to train, cute <img src="https://dogencyclopedia.net/FRAMeWORK/wcf/images/smilies/biggrin.png" alt=":D" /> and good with young children (4years old)

    • probably a great dog would be a dalmatian or a german shepard. jon and kate got 2 german shepards so they have to be great with kids. also police use them so there very smart

    • A spaniel would be nice (Im 14 and have a cocker spaniel) but they are VERY energetic and tiring and deliberatley annoy you when theyre pups XD. Also you could try something like a shi tzu x

    • Golden Retrievers are great family dogs. They are smart and easy to train! Also, Labrador Retrievers make great family dogs as well. Good luck with your decision!

    • Golden retrievers are lovely dogs. Smart, good to the little ones, and super cute. They can be a bit silly when young, but what dog isn't? And they will have fun with your little one, romping about.

    • Boxer but that's only if you can deal with all of their energy!Lab but long haired ones shed alot and are very commonAlmost any dog will get along with your children as long as you get it as a puppy and raise it correctly, which means letting your children 'bother it' to a point :)And I have a very smart dog who learns easily but is just so stubborn if I'm not consistent he will go backwards in training and 'unlearn' it all, and another dog that's not as smart but she is extremely willing to please so she tries her best to do whatever she thinks I am telling her to do :] She isn't dumb though just not as smart as my boxer. Any dog can learn and when you get your puppy I would definitely make it a necessity to go to a dog obedience class nearby (some pet store have them and also your city's website may have some going on at a nearby park). For large dogs you will probably be walking them everyday which is a little hectic to do if your children are younger so just be prepared :] And if your not too much of the walking type you can try to find a breeder who breeds larger english bulldogs which can be great with kids! They are one of my favorites!!! :]Good luck on finding the right dog and although I do support adoption and pound dogs 100% if you have kids, especially younger ones it is always a safer route to spend the extra money and find a reputable breeder near by so you can raise the dog yourself and trust it around your children.
