How much does it cost to adopt a kitten from the shelter?

I am planning to adopt a kitten from the animal shelter, but how much do they cost there??? Please help! Thanks!

depends on the shelter, call and ask. many have specials, they will even give them away free if they have way too many. and the fee is just to cover expenses. they do not make a profit.

why adopt look in your weekly news paper for free cats or kittens there is always a lot of them

I adopted mine from PetSmart (SCAT - Stray Cats Adoptions of Texas) and it cost me $50 (he was neutered and had his shots). The most expensive one I saw was $75.00. Sometimes customers donate (sponsor) money towards an animal to help them be rescued.
