How do you train a kitten out of the habit of biting?

My kitten likes to give "love nips" , especially in the middle of the night. I have recognized that it is a sign of affection for him as it is tied in with him being fussed with, purring, etc. Has anyone been able to successfully re-train their kitty from this habit.

Good luck, my cat does it to. It's a comfort thing and if it makes it go to sleep, i don't care.

whatever he bites, spray bitter apple spray on it. it smells and tastes bad for animals but dosn't harm them. here is the link below. they sell it in many pet stores

Kitten will grow out of this, be patient. Sometimes this is a form of adrenalin release, as kittens have so much energy.It will calm down.

I don't know, but it seems that male kittens like to bite you more than girl kittens. I think that you may have to endure his affections.

The kitten will grow out of this.It is in it's biting stage right now.After he grows up a bit,he'll be out of that stage.
