What is the best schooling fish to put in a fish tank?

I started a new tank and wondering what kind of fish swims around the most in a school? My new tank holds 55 gal.

the Tetra family...i.e. neons, cardinals, rasboras, bleeding hearts, head n tail light, penguins, scissor tails, the congo tetra...to name a few.

Try Sardines. You can eat them later. lol

I love neon tetras too, because they look cool under the lights. Clown fish are cool too.

FYI. Only one inch of fish per gallon of water. So if what ever kind of fish you decide on have an ADULT size of 5 inches..only put 11 fish in. Make sure you have the right size filter, and (if needed) a heater. Are you planning on Salt water of Fresh?....I have 2 clown fish,,they are always together,, but i think there might be problems if there are more...youd have to find that out.
