How do I Teach my kitty to use litter box?

I recently got this new kitty. Well I can't seem to get it to use the litter box. What do I do?

OK this will sound gross, sorry...next time kitty messes where you don't want him or her to, when you clean it up, collect a small amount and put it in the litter box. Use gloves if you have to. Bring kitty over to smell it. Smell is the key. Pet kitty reassuringly. Good luck!

put the cat in the box and watch it and make sure it use the box and it should from then on if it don't get a new cat.

I taught a kitten that had been raised in a carrier at the pet store to use the litter box by placing it in the litter box and stand over it and take both my hands and grab its front paws and use a digging motion. He caught on very fast. It is their nature once they really are exposed to a litter box to use it. In my case it was a kitten where it had no box to use.

There is a new kitty litter that is out for training kittens and problem cats. Look at Petsmart.

You don't teach kitties, kitties teach you! Put some clean soil in the tray.

&*&*&Litter box training is best learned if the kitten has been with the mother for the proper amount of time after birth. The problem is that most kitten are sold before the mother has had the chance to teach the litter the essentials.

cats use a litter box quite naturally, but help your kitty by putting her into the box and move her paws like she is scratching. Put also some shredded toilet paper to dig poopy. If she's still doing it behind a bed, put her immediately after into the box.
