Is it just a bad coincidence in my case??? A few years back, a few stray cats entered our backyard to have their kittens. All of the kittens usually survived, except for the (pure) white ones. The white kittens never passed the first day. I've read that…

    • all white in many species is actually a genetic deformity and probably and inclination that there are other problems...also 90% of white cats that have blue eyes are born deaf so that can lead to their early demise..can't hear mother, can't find food

    • Here are some links about white kittieshttp://messybeast.com/whitecat.htmhttp://www.fanciers.com/other-faqs/color-genetics.htmlhttp://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/L_P_swepston/genewhit.htmi hope some of those helped explain why you've had bad luck with white cats.

    • I had a litter of kittens a few years ago and ONLY the 2 little white ones lived. Mother was Calico, Father was Tabby. The kittens that passed were Grey, orange tabby, and a black and white kitten. The two white ones were the only to live, but maybe they lived because I was mommy cat, the mother was a stray and refused to feed them so I took over as mommy and had them all fixed, at 8 weeks I had only 2 left.

    • the reason is because if a white cat is born with blue eyes it is likely to be blind and a lot of white cats have blue eyes making them blind so they have a harder time surviving
