What kind of flexible plastic is safe to use with water in a fish tank?

I am building a wet/dry filter for my fish tank and the design requires flexible plastic tubing, but i don't know if some plastics or anything coating flexible plastic tubes is harmful to fish. So i am just asking what flexible tubing i can use for my filter.

I would only use the clear plastic tubing sold at the fish store for something like a wet/dry filter. It is cheap and made for use with live fish.8

you can get tubing at home depot for PONDS. It's relatively cheap, and way cheaper than a pet store. The pond stuff is in the garden section.

I wouldn't put any plastics in the tank. plastic is made from petroleum which is what they make gas out of. would you put gas or oil in your fish tank?
