puppy is on antibiotics for a respiratory infection but now her throat is swollen on one side?

We took our puppy to the vet because she had a respiratory infection and he gave her an antibiotic. now three days later one side of her throat is swollen. Do they get swollen glands like us? Are they just swollen because they are fighting off the same infection as the antibiotics? She is still eating and playing just her one side of her neck is swollen. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

how old is this puppy?This sounds like puppy strangles.She should be seen ASAP.The treatment is draining the abcess and then steroids and antibiotics

I would call the vets office if you are concerned. They don't charge for a phone call. They are usually more than glad to answer your questions.

I would call the vets emergency line. It may simply be an allergic reaction & benadryl can be given. But since she is on meds already, call the vet's line.

It sounds like an allergic reaction to her antibiotics. I would call the veterinarian as soon as possible to rule out anything. But, the fact that she's alert and eating is a good sign. Good Luck!
