    • If it doesn't go back in within a 15 minute period or so there might be something wrong with him. Erections in intact dogs are normal, but bleeding is not! Best to call the vet for advice.

    • ok my dog did this and since my grandma is a nurse ( ppl) she put it back in but if you cant take it to ur vet right away it means that it came out when he was doi around it and then maybe got off but regardless do something right away its very very pain full for them good luck!

    • The most common problem leading to bleeding in intact male dogs is almostcertainly prostate disease. The prostate can be palpated in dogs by rectalpalpation and if the prostate is greatly enlarged it would increase thelikelihood of prostatic problems as the cause of the observed bleeding. Theantibiotics are a good choice in this case. Prostate infections are oftenpoorly responsive to antibiotics and they must be used for long periods oftime in some dogs to get control of the infections --- it is not unusual tohave to use antibiotics for 6 to 8 weeks. Prostate hypertrophy in theabsence of infection also occurs and can lead to bleeding from the penis. Ithink that this is probably the major reason that we see occasionalbleeding episodes in some male dogs who never really seem to be ill fromthe problem. This is especially true of young male dogs who are sexuallyfrustrated by the presence of a female in heat.Injuries are also not uncommon.

    • Call the vet.. the penis itself should not be swollen.. it swells at the bulbus glans.. it should not be bleeding, nor should the testicles be swollen. He needs care NOW.. try to manually get it back in to help prevent further irritation.. use some KY or Vasaline.. make sure the skin of the sheath has not rolled inward and gently try to get it back in.If you cant get it in, rush to a vet.. since things a swollen and bleeding, he should see a vet anyways.
