    • So you mean agility? if so the best & safest way to teach even just a little Agility for fun is to take a class. Your dog is a good age to start a Puppy Agility class. In a puppy class they will only do obstacles & behaviors that are safe for a growing puppy. If you & your dog like it, you could progress on to a Beginner's Agility Class. There's a lot more to teaching "Agility tricks" than you would think. The Agility instructor can give you directions to build your own training weavepoles & how to safely start teaching them. Weavepoles take a very long time to teach, esp for beginner handlers. An Aussie shouldn't be doing straight-up weavepoles until they are 1 yr old. And a dog should jump no higher than hock-height until their growth plates are closed. Your dog knows Sit, Down & Stay, a good Come with distractions and you are ready to go. Ask your vet or look in your phone book for Agility training near you.
