    • No it's not too soon. You need to bring the mother and puppies for a post whelping exam tomorrow so the vets can check them for birth defects and so the vets can give the mother an injection to make sure everything came out.http://www.all-about-goldens.com/dog-birth.htmlhttp://www.ehow.com/how_6768722_care-dogs-after-they_ve-puppies.htmlhttp://www.srvs.co.nz/post-natal-care-bitch-g-105_358_334.html

    • Take the puppy to the vet at six weeks of age! However, you should call your vet immediately if a puppy exhibits any of the following symptoms:Lack of appetitePoor weight gainVomitingDiarrheaDifficult breathingCoughing/wheezingConstant cryingPale gumsSwollen eyes or eye dischargeNasal dischargeInability to pass urine or stool...I hope that helped! xx

    • Animals have been birthing without the help of humans and vets for thousands of years. You will be fine. Put a nice comfy quilt down (one you don't mind if it gets a little dirty) and let the mother take care of her young. Chances are all the pups will huddle together. If you have a runt make sure it gets a nipple too! Don't let the mom or other pups keep it from being fed. You can always put a light blanket or towel over them while they are nursing and sleeping. It will be great. But do check out my ongoing series 10 Common Household Things That Could Harm or Kill Your Dog on www.poofree.com
