can vets charge for a printout of my dogs medical history?

i rang my vets today to ask for a printout of my dogs medical history so i could change vets and they said its going to cost me over Â£20, are they allowed to do that?

Sure they can. No vet I've ever gone to has charged me for medical history, but they can if they choose.

I've never had a vet that charges for my dogs' medical history. They can do anything they want to do, and charge for whatever they want to.

When you decide on your new veterinarian, they can call the previous clinic and have them fax over your pets medical history. No charge.

Of course they can! Most doctors offices charge for it too.
