Can you give a dog milk thistle if he has liver and spleen cancer?

my dog had liver cancer and i gave him milk thistle and echinacea and he had no side effects from the cancer drugs which the vet thought was amazing however you should research it first as vets dont always agree with supplements but it doesnt mean they dont work. good luck
