    • Forget about getting a dog if you have children under seven. I had well trained dogs before I had children, consequently I did not have any problems.Little children torment dogs, they pull its ears and its tail and puppies jump up at kids and knock them over. Regardless of the age of a dog, a dog which is new to you is a hell of amount of work. Consider how you will take a dog out for walks at least twice a day.Can you clean up it's pee and poos and can you afford the huge expense of having a dog.

    • 5 years ago we got a kerryy blue terrier puppy they dont shed so there is less mess , this is my first dog and i love her to bits also she's good with young kids ,i have and nephew who is 5 also and they have grown up together and are best friends, my dog has never bitten anyone but is playful and can be loud if she hears someone coming to the house but i'm not good at traing dogs even though it only took a couple of days to potty train her

    • I don't know much about chesepeake Bay Retriever but if you're a first time owner DO NOT get a dalmatian, they are not the easiest dogs to train and are quite hyper. I'd recomend a Labrador or golden retriever. Also, these breeds ARE NOT very good for a first time owner;Border collieGerman ShepherdRottweillerStaffymastiffThis is simply because these breeds are extremely intellegent, therefore a first time owner may not have the experience or knowlege to stimulate the mind correcly of give the correct type of training. Then the dog would end up frustrated and bored and would become badly behaved.

    • You can get any dog you want. Just find out how to train him an take care of him. Well Dalmation is very hard to train so i would go for Chesapeake Bay Retriever. their easy to train and not too big. And find out everything about the dogs. But the best dogs are those who aren't breeders! So think about it..Ask specialists..
